The Month of October kicks off the Katameya Junior Golf Series
October 23rd – 24th was the weekend that kicked off the Katameya Junior Series. With over 40 juniors competing in 3 different categories, juniors of all ages and levels have a chance to participate and also win.
The Category 1 junior golfers who compete over the 18 hole Championship course in a strokeplay format enjoyed not only the excellent course conditions but the great golfing weather which allowed Timi Obatoyinbo to return a net 69 and win from runner up Saphir Gohar who returned a net 71.
Category 2 players played 9 holes on the New Nine in a strokeplay format. The champion golfer was Arisa Kimura who produced a great round, 44 gross less 18 giving her a net 26 and beating her closest rival, taking the Runner up position, Thomas North with a net 28. Third place in category 2 went to Max North with a net 31 winning on the count back.
The Katameya Kids Category, who compete over 6 shortened holes on the New Nine produced some magnificent scores aswell. The champion golfer was Nikita Murdoch with a gross 29 beating his closest rival and Runner up by 2 shots, William Brien who scored gross 31 beating Justina Repond on the count back aslso with gross 31.
