Mirage Captain – Mike Kidd
  • Format
    • 30 players a side – 24 men and 6 ladies.

    • Doubles matches played of handicap 3/4 handicap allowance.

    • Singles matches played of full handicap allowance.

    • 15 four ball matches on Day 1 at Mirage with the pairings in captain’s order.

    • 30 singles matches on day 2 at Katameya with the players placed in Handicap order but the captain has the chance place players with same handicap bracket as he likes. (Lowest handicaps to play first)

    • On both days ladies will play first.

    • Maximum handicap for men18 and for ladies 24

    • All matches must be played until there is a final result in the match.

  • Tees

 

Both clubs to use regular measured tees, but they are choice of club.

 

  • Practice

List of players to be sent to each club prior to match, with each player entitled to a practice round, not on a weekend.

  • Role of Captain

The Captain is permitted to offer and advice to any of his players at any time. Only players (or captains) within the playing group maybe become involved in a rules dispute, no outside players may become involved in another match.

 

  • F&B

Each club to provide tea/coffee/croissants etc for registration, then buffet for players afterwards. Soft drinks by club. Alcohol on individual expense.

 

  • Alternates

Both teams to declare 2 alternates and these alternates can be used prior to the event commencing. Once the event has commenced any player who withdraws through the event can not be replaced and the opposing team would claim the victory in that particular match and the point.

 

 

 

  • Financial arrangements

Both teams to provide 1 day buffet, Price TBC
Katameya to cover the cost for medals.

 

  • Caddies

Caddies may be used.

  • Measuring Devices

The use of measuring devices will be permitted under R&A rule 14-3/0.5.
A committee may establish a Local Rule allowing players to use devices that measure distance only. However, the use of devices that gauge or measure other conditions that might affect a player’s play (e.g. wind or gradient) is not permitted. In the absence of such a Local Rule, the use of a distance measuring devices would be contrary to Rule 14-3 (New).

Players/partners in the fourball matches may share the use of a measuring device but in the singles matches only the player as an individual can use the measuring device for himself/herself. (No sharing of measuring device in singles matches)

 

Spectators

 

Spectators are encouraged, however not on the golf course itself and with no golf cart use.
