Tournament Conditions

  1. CONDITIONS OF TOURNAMENT. The tournament is a 36 -hole stroke play event played from the ladies Championship tees (Red) over the Championship Course at Katameya Heights Golf and Tennis Resort. The Katameya Ladies Open will award an equal number of net and gross prizes with the leading gross player being crowned the 2009 Katameya Heights Ladies Open Champion. www.katameyaheights.com

The Katameya Ladies Open is also the second qualifying event for the EGF Ladies Order of Merit. The EGF will allocate OOM points after the event. www.egyptiangolffederation.org

b)      The tournament is open to Lady Amateurs only - with a maximum handicap of 36. Field size for the Championship Course category is restricted to the 72 lowest handicap players. A handicap ballot will be carried following close of entries on Wednesday 11th November 2009 at Midday.

 

c)      Players will be required to show current proof of handicap at registration.

 

d)     Start times for both rounds will be from 8.30 – 10.30 from both 1st and 10th holes.

 

e)      Handicaps 0 – 18 – strokeplay, Handicap 19 + stableford.

 

f)       The size of the field will be a maximum of 72 golfers on the Championship Course.

 

g)      Carts are permitted for the tournament and provided with the entry fee. IN the case of dispute the first two players listed in the draw will be required to share a cart. In the case of the last 2 flights competing for the gross title of Open Champion, they may be permitted their own cards.

 

h)      Closing date for entries is Midday Wednesday 11th November 2009 –The entry fee of LE 450 for non members of Katameya and LE 250 for Full Golf members of Katameya and LE 350 for Non Full golf members of Katameya, all inclusive of entry fees, cart fees for tournament days, 2 tournament days green fees and complimentary practice round on Sunday 15th November 2009 (subject to advanced booking through Katameya Pro Shop on 02 27580505

 

i)        Entries will only be accepted if on a completed official entry form. Players will have their entry confirmed by Katameya with in 24 hours of their application being received. ( if you do not receive confirmation by Katameya within 24 hours please call Steven Burton on

j)        Entries will also be posted on the Katameya website and updated daily.

 

k)      Cancellation within 48 hours of the start of the tournament and no-shows will be charged the full entry fee. Cancellation after the closing date will result in a LE 50 administration fee being charged.

 

l)        All entries are to be sent to and collated by Katameya Heights Administration team.

 

m)    In the event of there being a tie for first place in the 36 hole gross event there will be a sudden death play-off over the 18th and 10th Holes until a result is achieved.

For all other ties there will be a card play-off over the last 18, 9, 6, 3, and last hole. In the event of there still being a tie there will be a card play-off starting from the 1st hole and playing the course as per the card until a result is achieved.

The tournament will award the top 5 best gross scores, the top 5 net scores (A player may not win more that one prize, any top 5 gross position is considered more important than a net position. The priority of prizes is listed below.

 

n)      If a player arrives at his starting point ready to play, within 5 minutes after his starting time the penalty for failure to start on time is 2 strokes to be added to the player's starting hole. If the player arrives after 5 minutes the player is disqualified.

 

o)      The committee reserves the right to alter the draw or starting times.

 

p)      The committee reserves the right to refuse an entry.

 

q)      The R & A Rules of Golf apply and the local rules of Katameya Heights Golf and Tennis Resort.

 

r)       Caddies – Caddies are permitted as long as the compulsory cart rule and 2 players per cart rule are honored – ( subject to course)

 

s)       Spectators are permitted but must keep an acceptable distance from the players and to the cart paths where possible. Spectators will not be allowed carts for this purpose.

 

t)       A round of golf should take no longer than 4 hours and 9 holes should take no longer than 2 hours. If a player / group is considered slow the following penalties will be applied;

 

First Offence – warning.

Second Offence – Two strokes.

Third Offence – Disqualification.

 

u)     Measuring Devices

Local Rule permitting Use of Distance Measuring Devices 14 – 3/0.5

Players are allowed to use measuring devices providing they measure distance only. However, the use of devices that gauge or measure other conditions that might affect a player’s play (e.g. wind or gradient) is not permitted.

In the absence of such a Local Rule, the use of a distance measuring distance devices would be to Rule 14 -3. (New)

 

v)      Mobile Telephones – Not to be used for the 18 holes of each round, unless urgent.

 

w)    Disputes – In the event of any disputes or a need to change any terms or conditions of the tournament the decision of the Tournament Committee will be final.
